The Recursive Tarot

A public-domain, scholarship-grounded genealogy of the tarot — fifteen historical decks from the 1440s Milanese game decks, through the printed Tarot de Marseille, to the 1781 occult reframing that invented divination. Each deck is framed in its own tradition (game decks are called games; meanings are never forced across traditions), every image is public domain with attribution, and the whole thing is just files in a public repo you can read, correct, and play.
